Minecraft

 

This week we have made a Minecraft world. It was based on what we will need on a deserted Island. Lucy and I made a house with chests containing stuff we will need. There is a kill room in the second story of the house. In the kill room, there is pigs, cows and chickens. When we run out of food to kill we have to put more animals in. There are horses running around the Island and a pen with turtles in them. I liked to make the island. Have you played Minecraft?      

Snow White and the Waru and a Half Matific Monsters Production

 This term we have been doing a production. The name of the production is Snow White and the Waru and a Half Matific Monsters. There are Monsters, Snow White, a Prince, Guards, Trees, a Rock, Narrators, a Frog, a Horse, a Fairy, a Mirror, Mr Cowell, The Kind Queen, The Wicked Queen, Huntsmen, and a Bird. We were going to do it on the stage but because of Covid, we have had to film it. There are 4 scenes in the show. I am riding my horse in one scene.  I was the horse but the teachers thought that I caught ride my horse in if I was fine with it. Every class has a dance, our class dance is to the song  Am I Wrong . I am also in the dance group, the song for that is Ugly Heart. Have you done a show before and if you have what was the name of? We do it to learn how to work in a group and to learn how to memorize lines.

Lockdown

 This week we have deen doing school at home. We have had to do it on a google meet with the whole class. It can be hard to do work at home because it can get distracting. We have been going for walks around the block and the beach.  We have been doing lots of gardening because we just moved in just before lockdown. Caden and I had a water balloon fight on Tuesday. We had 200 balloons, we bought them when we went on a walk. I have been horse riding on Coby a lot because I had nothing to do. What do you do in lockdown?

Olympic Games Tokyo 2020

 This week we have been learning about the Olympic Games. The Olympic is on every 4 or 5 years like this year we are having  2020s Olympic because the Olympics was cancelled last year because of covid. We have to do some research about a competitor that is competing. This year I chose a horse rider named Uma O’neill  and her horse's name is Edelweiss. They have been partnered since Edelweiss was 8 years old. They have just go her first Grand Prix on the 7 of July 2021. Have you been watching the Olympics? Do you have a favourite sports person at the games?  

Scratch

We have been learning about  how to make a game on Scratch. The game I made was a game when you have to move the couch to catch the cat and the dog. Scratch is a coding game so you have to put blocks in and make a code that makes things move.Have you made a game on Scratch? Have you used Scratch before? We have been learning how to code and problem solve. When I did it and it did in't work it was very frustrating. Mr A went for a course and then came back and showed us how to make a game.  

Art

 

This term we have been learning about Emily Carr she was a Canadian artist that loved  painting trees. This is how we did it, we started by doing the background we picked 2 or 3 paints and sponged it on the paper. Then we had a practice at doing our trees, after that we painted the trees on the background. Then we did grass we signed them. Did you know about Emily Carr? 

Fake Poster

In reading this week we have been learning about how to spot fake news and how to tell the difference so we don't get sucked in to it. We had to make a poster and read a site of it. One of the readings were a tree octopus. Do you know how to spot fake news?
