SLJ Week 1 Day 2

When I  did something brave was when Lucy was over and we went  in the mine because there are eels. We are both scared of eels.

Pet Day

I am bringing Coby to pet day.  He is 10 years old. Dad is walking him to  pet day from Ma and Jim's. 

Coding

Today  Mr Kinane came into our class to teach us how to use Tynker.  We made spirals this is my spiral.He was here for an hour and I really enjoyed it.

Calendar Art

This is my Calendar art. It is me falling into a portal. I coloured  it in with pastel crayons and I wrote my name on the bottom. The whole school made calendars.

My Mum

I like her because she has pretty earrings and a pretty necklace. She has brown eyes like me.

My Kiwi

I like it because it is soft and it makes noises.

My Bed

My Nana just bought me my bed. I got it because my brother has a double bed as well.

My Slime

I like it because it is not sticky and it has glitter. My favourite colour is orange because you can see through it and the colour of the glitter is silver.

Robyn is a very good drawer. She has just made a colouring book.

Scones

I eat them with jam and butter.  My Mum and Caden love them.

Haast

This is our bach. We go down lots. Haast is a small town on the West Coast. Have you ever been there?

Ice Cream

The ice cream truck plays cool music and thats how you know when it is coming down the road. Have you had a ice cream from the ice cream truck?

Breakfast

I had bacon and egg pie, chips and a milkshake. We are at Cafe 39. We call it funny toilets because it has a funny toilet.

These are my skates. I like them because they can go fast.

This is my stuffed toy Lambie. I love her because of how soft she is.

The Skinks

This is one of the skinks that I found in the cemetery. Every time I tried to catch it, it would run away because it is so fast.

My Sport

My sport is gymnastics.  I like it because I can learn a lot of things.

My Hospital

This is my hospital. It took me 5 minutes to make it. I made it in bed last night when my little brother was going to bed.

These are my shoes. I like them because they are comfy and clean.

This is my Haiku poem. It is a quick thing to do. It is like a small warm up for writing.

Haiku poem

This is my haiku poem. A haiku poem is a poem that only has three sentins. The first sentins has 5 silbils the midil sentins has 7 silbila and the last sentins has 5 silbils.

Multiplication

This week we have been learning multiplication. We had groups we learned repeated addition and multiplication. It was had at first then it got easier towards the end.  I still need to work on how to figure out how to get the answer.

Tynker

Today we had Mr Kinane come in to teach us haw to use Tynker. We  had to make a square by using blocks. Have you used Tynker before?

Colour Poem

This is my colour poem. I chose my favourite colour pink. These are my thoughts and feelings about pink. I created this on Animoto it was hard at first but I got better at it towards the end because I knew what to do. Have you ever written a colour poem?

Vocabulary

 We have been learning what mayhem  means.  It means a situation of great confusion or destruction.

Melted Wax Crayon Art

When we started our clowns we wrote it in pencil then painted in melted crayon. Every time we painted we had different colours. We had to be careful with the paintings because it can crumble and fall off and we could only do one or two strokes with it. I  was happy when we were doing it because I like doing art. My clowns shirt is blue with a flower in the middle, it’s eye's are yellow.  Her ears are purple and she has a crown with pointy hair. All the clowns had boarders, my boarder has orange and yellow squares. I am proud of my clown because I worked hard on it.

Vocabulary

Vast is the word of the week.  It means something very big.  The ocean view was vast.

This is my maths that I had to do for the week we were learning fractions.

This week we have been learning what novice means. It means being new at something.

We have been learning what the denominator and numerator means.

Cross Country

On Friday we went to Cross Country at my granddad's farm. The Year fours had to run two laps. I am a Year four so I had to do two laps. At the end I was very cold and dirty. But I had fun. I came third place in the Year 4 girls. When I ran through the mud my foot got stuck. When I got my foot out of the mud it was very dirty. 

Vocabulary

We have been learning what bolt means. Bolt has more than one meaning. It can also mean a lightning bolt and a bolt can hold some metal together and we can bolt a door shut.

Coding

Mr Kinane came to teach us how to make shapes with Cody. I fiddled with the numbers then I made this.

We have been learning what procrastinate means. I procrastinate by annoying my brother instead of  cleaning my room.

All about me

Hi my name is Olivia I go to Kaniere School in Ruma Tui. I am a year 4 student. I am good at writing. I like doing art. I am good at maths. My best friend is Isaiah. I like playing on the flying fox at school with my friends. I am a gymnast. I like playing wink wink murder. I am in a class with Year 4 and 3 students. I do gymnastics, swimming and athletics. I have three cats 1 adult cat and to kittens, the adult cat is not a the mum of the kittens. My favourite animal is a giraffe. I am 8 years old. I am very creative. My favourite food is fish and chips. I like making things with paper. My goals for this year is to read faster and louder.My mum and dad's name is Bevan and Tracy my brother's name is Caden. My pets names are Fidget, Sprinkles and Mischief.

Doubles to 20

We have been learning our doubles to 20 like this 4 + 4 = 8 we had to get the amount of apples from the first slide and ctrl c it and ctrl v it on the slide. I noticed that we were adding to twenty and we had to add 2 to each problem.

Cybersmart

We are learning how to be cybersmart with our computers. We where learning to not hold them from the lid and to log out of our computers.

Maths Shapes

I used 21 triangle, 1 hexagon, 1 trapezoid , 2 diamond.  I learnt that a circle has 1 side.

Adding tens

I was learning how to do maths problems and make them in to tens to help me solve bigger problems.
