Art

This term we have been learning about Emily Carr she was a Canadian artist that loved  painting trees. This is how we did it, we started by doing the background we picked 2 or 3 paints and sponged it on the paper. Then we had a practice at doing our trees, after that we painted the trees on the background. Then we did grass we signed them. Did you know about Emily Carr?

Melted Wax Crayon Art

When we started our clowns we wrote it in pencil then painted in melted crayon. Every time we painted we had different colours. We had to be careful with the paintings because it can crumble and fall off and we could only do one or two strokes with it. I  was happy when we were doing it because I like doing art. My clowns shirt is blue with a flower in the middle, it’s eye's are yellow.  Her ears are purple and she has a crown with pointy hair. All the clowns had boarders, my boarder has orange and yellow squares. I am proud of my clown because I worked hard on it.

My self portrait

The best images to use on our posts are ones we have created ourselves or our own photos. We have been using Google Drawing to create our own and have learnt how to use new tools to make a self portrait. We took a selfie and had to make sure we had our head and shoulders in the picture before we fitted it to the page. Next we used the polyline tool to draw around our face because it is the only line tool that you can colour in. This was tricky because when I went around stuff polyline just turned off. Next we had to match our skin colour and then we went into the custom tool so we could make our fill transparent. We did this so we could see a little bit of your face. We used the magnifying tool to make my small eyes and mouth bigger. I’m happy with the way my hair looks on my self portrait because I am wearing a headband. I will have to work on my nose and my background and my tshirt. Thank you for reading my blog post. Have you ever tried to draw your own self portrait? If not, I hope you will have a go and share your effort with me.
